 Backing up Actinic
Solution Each time you close Actinic you should take a "Snapshot" and store the resultant file in a separate place ie CD, 2nd PC, external hard disk, online service. If you have a backup routine running on your PC/network/server make sure you copy the snapshot to a location that is backed up.  Hence you get a 2nd copy.  Nowadays diskspace is cheap so you can afford to have multiple redundancy. Remember to take your backup offsite.

Create a naming convention to help you identify the snapshot in the future - we use the following
sitename-ddmmyy-version.acd

where sitename is the name of the site (useful if you have more than one site)
ddmmyy is the date taken, add time if you take lots of snapshots in a day.
version is the version of actinic (ie 8.5.1, or 7.07 etc) which will help you import into the correct version of actinic if you have to go back a long way

Additionally, to be even safer, zip up a copy of site1, again copy this to a secure 2nd location (CD, external hard drive).

Remember if your PC goes bad you can not restore Actinic from the webserver. You must have a copy of site1 or a snapshot.
